To The Arctic is an extraordinary journey to a place of extremes that few ever dare to go. In this film for IMAX® and IMAX 3D Theatres, we venture across floating ice with a mother polar bear and her two cubs as they struggle to survive; travel with a herd of caribou who journey for miles to their calving ground; plunge into the ethereal underwater world of waltzing walruses; and gaze across hundreds of miles of snow-bound peaks and a vast expanse of the Arctic Ocean, an exquisite spectacle of sapphire white.

The ocean’s Humpback whales have inspired a 3D giant screen film that will premiere in international theatres. Humpback Whales will take audiences to the underwater world, to the faraway places where Humpbacks live and thrive. From the clear turquoise waters of the South Pacific to Africa, Hawaii and Alaska, this 40-minute ocean adventure will reveal what we know about this giant mammal and what mysteries scientists are determined to solve.
In 1996, MacGillivray Freeman Films filmed an amazing story that unfolded on the tallest mountain on Earth. In May of that year, Mt. Everest claimed the lives of 15 climbers in its deadliest season ever. The resulting film, Everest, became the highest grossing giant screen documentary film of all time. Based on the film’s overwhelming international success, MacGillivray Freeman Films returned to the mountain in 2007 to reveal more of its secrets for a new film Everest: Conquering Thin Air.
Starting in 2011, MacGillivray Freeman Films will launch the world’s largest ocean media campaign, a 10 year, $45-million dollar global initiative called One World One Ocean that includes a 3D IMAX film, a 3D theatrical documentary, a 3D television series, a web series, a social action campaign and advertising campaign—all designed to dramatically reshape the way we think about the ocean and inspire much-needed change.
